Our Superstar gets the 'Superstar Award'

Tonight was the awards ceremony for Haley's first year in Select Soccer. It was a great party at California Fitness. The girls and parents and siblings all played an indoor game for the first hour and then after pizza the coaches did the awards. There were players choice awards. The girls were asked a couple of weeks ago to anonymously vote for several categories; best defender, best offense, biggest boot, and something else and then the SUPERSTAR of the team. The person who gave their all at all positions, had a great attitude and always went that extra mile. It was the last award and our HALEY WON IT!!!! I think she was VERY surprised!!! I took pictures of all the girls getting their awards and guess what? The only one that didn't come out Haley's!!!! So we posed at home in front of our undecorated tree LOL
All the girls got medals with their name, number and the year on it. Usually all that info isn't on a medal! Then her trophy was for Superstar!
I have to say, it was a bit pricey but worth every dollar to see how much she enjoyed Select Soccer and she has learned so much!

AND last but not least the UGLY cake that Raley's made!!!! The cake they will be refunding me a lot of money on tomorrow. Long story but believe me this isn't what I had in mind when I ordered a $35.00 cake!!!

Bridgitt and the Nutcracker!

On Sunday Mandy and I had a day alone sort of. We went to see Bridgitt perform in the Nutcracker! She was beautiful and the whole minute she was on the stage was the best minute of the whole play! Again I need a picture, so maybe her mommy will email me one when she reads this and I can add it. Bridgitt is only four and she has performed in the play twice! I was so proud of her and I think she did a wonderful job. I know I was a bit tired when she came on and still got tears in my eyes while I watched her!! Great job sweetie!

And as an added bit of wonderful Mandy and I enjoyed each other all afternoon and went out to dinner alone as well. It was fun, thanks for going with me Manda!

Saturday was a big day at our house!

While we were gone to Reno, Wendy Stoutenburg, Natalie's mom was kind enough to take Haley to her last soccer tourney! They almost froze to death because the weather was so awful and cold. I guess they sat in the car for lunch with the heater on LOL

Anyway they played four games between 9:30 and 4:00 and they won all four!! Haley even scored and Natalie scored twice! I don't think she has scored this season so that was really awesome. I hated to miss it and am hoping our team photographer got some pics and I can post one! Congrats Superstars!!!! Great way to end the season.

Nevada State Champions!!!

Last Saturday we traveled to Reno (about 100 miles) to watch our nephew's high school team WIN the Nevada State Championship. I wish there was some way to express how much fun I had Saturday. Ed and I went alone since Haley had soccer. We did some Christmas shopping to do so went early and guess where we went. Yep, Cabella's! LOL Now I have the kids all worried about what dad bought them at Cabella's!!! I did get several nice things and one that I particularly want to share! Silk long john's. I know I know, this is a bit personal BUT OMGosh you have never worn anything next to your skin that is so wonderful. Now silk isn't in our budget normally so I don't own a silk blouse or whatever but these are to die for and on top of it, they keep me warm!!!!

Now if you are wondering about this picture??? This is a FIND WALDO picture. In the middle right of the crowd is our family. I am in the brown jacket and the rest of the family is to my right or behind me. LOL Good luck, get out those magnifying glasses!!!



Now back to this issue, the most awesome football game. It was at Mackey Stadium at UNR and we were a FEW minutes behind schedule because Ed found a discrepency in his receipt at Cabella's!!!! We did finally get in just before kick off. Lucky ED!!!!!
I was able to hear them introduce him from the ticket booth, LUCKY FOR ED again!!!
The weather was awesome, and the game was a nail biter! The Las Vegas team was VERY good as well and it could have gone either way. We scored first..7-0, then in the 2nd quarter they scored but 7-6...okay nerves set in!!!! Then it was just back and forth until the middle of the third quarter and they got a 40+ yard run! 12-7 them. EEEEEK. They just could not get those extra points THANK GOODNESS. We were getting worried. Then at about 2.5 minutes one of our runners broke away, went 40+ yards and now it us 13-12 and they have the ball!!! INTERCEPTION!!! thank you Lord above. And that is how it ended. They boys were all so excited, needless to say we were all crying in the bleachers!!!! My sis and her husband went down toward the field and I told Ed I was going too!!!! He was a bit hestitant but when we got there my sister was with Anthony and they were looking up to the bleachers looking for me!!! I said hey I am here and got the most wonderful hug!!! I love love love being the auntie to this young man and his siblings!!!! I will add a few pictures and share the joy!!!! Thank you Anthony for the most wonderful carefree, joyful memory!!!
