January 14, 2009 32 Years

Sometimes it seems like yesterday. I asked Ed if we couldn't celebrate our anniversay this year the DAY OF, instead of the next weekend. He was so sweet and when I suggested it in December he was all for it. As the day neared though I sensed the tension at work, the workload and the trepidation about taking a day off to do NOTHING! Yes I requested a day alone to do NOTHING, if that's what we chose.I told him I wouldn't hold him to it and he kept insisting, if half heartedly, that we go.\
I woke up to these beautiful roses! We have never liked red and he said these were more beautiful than any others he saw LOL. They are still beautiful today, all opened up a week later.

So we got up, got Haley off to school, told all other children to forget our numbers and where we lived unless there was blood! We stayed around for a couple of hours and leisurely got dressed and talked, then headed out. LOL Haley forgot her lunch so we delivered that, Mike's truck needed a smog check so we stopped and arranged that LOL It was hard on him but finally we left town. I thought we were going for a late breakfast but nope he said we were going for an early lunch and got on the freeway! Finally I asked where and he said Old Town Sacramento, a great touristy place! Oh how he hates wondering the streets looking in shops LOL BUT that's exactly what we did. Old Town sits on the Sacto River so we went down and sat by the river for awhile and watched the pidgeons and the big river boats. In all we had a great lunch and lots of fun for three hours.

We headed back toward Loomis. Old Town is about 25 miles away. He said, 'Let's not go home".... We ended up going to Penny's to exchange some pants and over the Walmart to do the same. By then we had a little time to go by Mandy's new office and look around, show Dad where she manages the new tax office. Well what should come next...Dinner.........We had two mexican meals in one day! We drove around and looked at lights and homes, etc. It wasn't an exciting day by most peoples scale but it was the most wonderful anniversary we have spent in a long time. The kids all managed whatever came along, Mike and Franklin (his friend) picked Haley up at school and took to to play frisby golf! Anyway I can't imagine what the next 32 will bring us but this first 32 was worth all the effort. He's pretty special and I am very grateful to have him in our lives!!!

Happy Bird Day Ellie!

She's Four now, what happened to our two year old?

Thank you all for your prayers. My friend is doing much better. She had another surgery and actually called me the other night on her own steam!!! She still has cancer but we will take our wins where we can find them....

Never again will we have Happy Bird Day cause now Ellie is all grown up and NOW she knows it's her birthday unlike when she was two! One of my fondest memories will always be her 2nd 'Happy Bird Day'. She couldn't say it enough. Now she is four and very into Pinkalicious so her mommy did it up on all that stuff we got 90% off at Beverlys LOL What a bash. Everything was pink. I actually think there was a pink hue in the room! She had a few friends over and they ate pink food, off of pink cupcake tins and wore pink! Oh and of course they all painted their hair pink too! She was beautiful and in awe a lot of the day. Kudos to her mommy for pulling this off in tax season and only 2 weeks after Christmas! Unfortuately my new camera has a chip that my printer won't recognize so I have to go make a disk of pics off the laptop and come back the pictures! Mandy will post a more elaborate view of the day with better pics I am sure so be sure and go to her blog after she gets a day off LOL or in April! Gramma and Grampa love you Elliebelle!

If you have an extra prayer or two I'd appreciate your help!

My friends are also having a hard time this month. My friend Arlene is in the hospital now for three weeks! She need lots of our good thoughts.

Aleanea has also succumbed to whatever had her family the last few weeks. Hope you feel better soon friend.

And Sue, dear Sue in Alabama is so under the weather and the holidays she reminds me of me!!!! I hope she feels better soonnnnnnn.

A Challenging Week!

I have tried all week to post some Christmas pictures and have been swimming uphill fighting a virus or two and a corrupted hard drive! Sure not just one but MANY problems. I think after a nice sum of money and three trips to Auburn I have solved the problems and created a whole new set of problems LOL

I went in yesterday to pick up the PC after the WASH and CLEAN UP and they said OH we have had so many problems getting your computer to work. It keeps going to bluescreen! You might need a new mother board! Well that's not happening I promise you! I cannot afford ONE more computer THING in my life right now LOL They wanted to try one more thing first and yippeee it worked and they were able to keep to their original estimate. They called and said unfortunately we had to move everything and fix your harddrive and then reload. We may have lost a recipe program? No problem! However now that's it home they have actually fixed all my problems but they have reloaded a better version of windows and guess what. I lost none of MY documents pics or anything, just many many of the programs to run them LOL
EEEEEEK..All my favorites, all the addresses I entered off of Christmas cards are gone somewhere LOL Oh shoot who needs a computer anyway???

On to better news! Our baby Ellie turned four today. I just kept looking at her in her black lacy skirt and ballerina shirt thinking how wonderful it was to have her here when just four yrs ago she arrived here in our bedroom! What a special special memory. She was so perfect and pink then and now well not quite so perfect but she's growing and learning and testing and she is still sweet and pink, Pinkalicious that is....Love you baby! No pictures today, we will have to take lots at her birthday party on Sunday when all her freinds come dresses in pink!

What a wonderful Christmas in 08 we had!

It seems like I was so absorbed with making gifts, baking, etc that I didn't blog after the 11th. Wow and there were some really good things to blog about LOL. Our crop group got together and we exchanged gifts and scrapped until late into the night. Mandy and Alis worked on the video of their High School years to share with there friends at the annual before Christmas bfast. LOL When they were young it was Christmas Eve Morning very early, in their jammies at DENNY's LOL It's nice to see good friends stick together and to see their respective families grow and the girls babies now growing up together....

Dad made an edict that Christmas dinner would be here this year so we all made it work. The babies opened their presents at home as did we here and then we all met at DENNY's for breakfast. That is a dad tradition and the ONLY place open is Dennys' LOL. After bfast we went to Mandy's for a little while to play with the WII but eventually we all came home and spent the day opening more pressies, cooking dinner (an easy one this year). AND we all sat and watched Walle together after dinner. Even Michael stayed around this year and it really was fun....

Santa was very good to Mrs. Santa and I got so many electronics that it took me days to program everything LOL. Now I am sitting here looking at my tree, yes Jan 4 and dreading taking it down tomorrow! We have had lots going on here this week and my family has been very patient with me and my inability to take it all down. My friend Arlene in Arkansas is very sick and I am very worried about her. Hang in there dear friend!

Mandy starts working tomorrow and we all have our give jobs in order to make it work. I am ballet chauffer and Hayden pick up grammy. I am sure we will get into a good routine and it will be time to go back to normal before we know it..
